I started blogging when I set up my original business in 2011. A great deal has changed and evolved since then in the online world, but blogging has remained a consistent activity. It’s just as important to business now as it was then, and this shows no sign of changing.

Quite simply, blogging is a vital part of any business marketing strategy. The benefits are many and varied, with the most important being its impact on search engine rankings. We all want to be on page one of Google, and without a regularly updated blog, your chances of achieving that are greatly reduced.

Not set up your blog yet? I recommend using WordPress, a widely available open source content management system. Originally developed as a blogging platform, it now powers more than 30% of websites worldwide. WordPress is free to install – all you need is a domain name and web hosting package. There are plenty of hosting options, so it pays to shop around. I use and recommend TSOHost, based in the UK.
